With DBPR applications that require a credit report, it is important that the credit report be sent WITH the application.
We don’t live in a perfect world, though, do we?
Online Applications: If you are applying for a license online, haven’t paid the fee yet and do not have an application number, you should upload the report at the same time you make application.
Paper Applications: If you are mailing in your application, then include a printed copy of the credit report with your paper application.
Deficiency Letters: If you receive a deficiency letter requesting credit reports, please send us a copy of the letter so that we can attach it to your credit report. That makes life a lot easier on the profiler who assigns the report to your application file. The letter contains your name, trade code, application number, and the initials of the examiner reviewing your application.
Summary: When you request that a credit report be sent directly to the DBPR, it’s necessary to have an application number. The DBPR is processing hundreds and hundreds of applications weekly for many different professions. If a credit report is sent separately without an application or an application number, it’s hard for them to know which file to attach that report to, which is why application numbers are so important. Sure, we can fax the report up there without an application number, but chances are it will get thrown into an undetermined file and never make it into your application file.
